David Suzuki, René Ngongo speak at Lund University

RLC-log.jpgI will be participating in an event of the “Right Livelihood College” at Lund university on 6 December 2009. The event is chaired by the international learning and exchange initiative I co-founded with staff at the “Right Livelihood Award Foundation”. The Stockholm-based foundation awards the “Right Livelihood Awards” on an annual basis to three to four outstanding individuals. The prize is better known as the “Alternative Nobel Prize”.

An overview of the event bearing the title “Wake-Up Calls to Secure Our Common Future” and that features this year’s Right Livelihood Award winners David Suzuki (Canada) and René Ngongo (Democratic Republic of Congo) is available here.

Followed by a plenary discussion, Ngongo and Suzuki are going to speak about “Rainforests as Our Common Heritage” and “The Party’s Over: Confronting The Ecological Crisis”.

A detailed programme is available on the website of the hosting institution, the LUCSUS Centre (Lund University Centre of Sustainability Studies) at the University of Lund, Sweden.
